Bigger than the biggest protest in history is the privilege of getting the benefit of doubt instead of an assumption of guilt. Peaceful protestors being met with violence, with riot gear. Media coverage amplifying a false narrative of rioting. Bigger than the biggest protest in history is the privilege of storming the U.S. Capitol and smiling for the cameras while doing it. We say Black lives matter to raise questions about whose lives we do or do not value. We say Black lives matter to amplify Black voices, Black representation, Black-owned businesses, Black love, Black beauty, Black Anger, Black Justice, Black Joy, Black community, Black leadership, Black dignity, Black sovereignty. We say Black Lives Matter to amplify Love.
